GreWi-Exclusive: British Ministry of Defence Finally Releases its Last Secret UFO-Files

London (England) – Because their existence was first denied and then their release delayed over months and years, they were titles as the last big UFO-secret held by the British Ministry of Defence (MoD). Now those last UFO-files were finally released into the public. But – as the German news-blog on frontier-sciences Grenzwissenschaft-Aktuell.de (GreWi) exclusively reveals – those who want to read and see them have to go to the reading room of the National Archives in Kew, as their are no plans to digitize the files – even if all previous sets of formerly secret MoD-UFO-files were put online in full.
As a spokesperson of the National Archives confirmed to GreWi-editor Andreas Muller, the new tranche consists of 15 different files dating between 1971 and 2007. They can be accessed in the reading rooms at Kew, but will not be made available online.
Background
Contrary to its claim in 2013 that now all of its formerly classified UFO-files were released to the public via the National Archives, in 2014 the MoD had to confirm that 18 of such UFO-files were still held back. However, a publication of this files was initially announced for 2015 – but the date was delayed into early 2016, then to summer 2016 and then again into August. In August it was said that the release was again rescheduled and that the files would not be published before „early 2017„. Later this date has been shofted again because of administratve reasons due to the Brexit-Election in early Juni 2017 to a date after the votes (…GreWi reported) – a date that now has been finally fullfiled.
The reason for not putting them online – contrary to literally all formerly published MoD-UFO-files is (according to the National Archives) because this „latest pack of files is relatively small, so it was not seen as practical to put them through the online publication process“ – even in the face of a growing public and media interest in those files. Beside visiting the Archives in Kew one can also order the files to be copied and send by mail – however this process will take at least 24 days, the spokesperson explained.
For this reason GreWi has not been able to study the files yet. However, here is the list of content provided by the Archives:
